This week, my fellow classmate, Ben, and I worked on modeling an oscillating steam engine that we are going to mill next week. This is from a kit that our teacher, Mr. L, ordered for the shop. As shown below is the drawing for the assembly of the steam engine. In the top right is the list of materials needed and what part each one is used for.

We decided to equally split the modeling between the two of us and then combine ours at the end to assemble. This took about 2 days. The actual making of components was pretty easy with the drawings that the kit came with but assembling the engine in Fusion turned out to have a whole mess of problems. Nevertheless, we powered through and were able to successfully make it with joints that would predict the actual engine's motion.

After making all the components, our teacher wanted us to remake the drawings in Fusion so that they would be saved for future people to make. Ben and I each did the drawings of the models we did. In this process, I messed up and we used two different types of drawings, both AMSE and ISO, but they both work as long as the measurements are correct.

These are some of Ben's drawings:

Then on Thursday, there was a tech company called Guardian Agriculture going out of business and they were auctioning all their stuff online, so I tried bidding on a lot which consisted of 5 monitors, 4 desks, 3 filing cabinets, 3 whiteboards, and 3 chairs. When I bid on it the lot was $40, but I didn't get it as someone bid up to $$165.

The plan for next week is for Ben and me to start and hopefully get through most of making the actual parts for the steam engine. Mr. L considered making it so that we hook it up to something like an Arduino or something similar and power it. It should be really cool once we actually get it working.
