I started off the week by continuing to focus on the R2D2. Mr. L suggested I use the batteries that had been confiscated from the vapes. These were only 3.7V, and I needed 5V for the transmitter and receiver to run properly, so I was combining the two. Soldering these was really annoying because you have to be very careful because the separate parts can't touch.

I finished soldering these together, and they worked great with a 5V regulator. I then started looking for the switch I wanted to use. I want it to be on the smaller side so it isn't so obvious, at least on the actual R2. The controller, I don't care about as long as it fits properly.

In the middle of the week, Tim asked me to make a part out of plywood to put in the main body, as he turned it so it didn't buckle. All the dimensions were slightly too big, so the pieces need to be remade to properly fit. I am making the inside edge about 0.005 inches bigger so it can be sanded down to the perfect diameter.

I went to talk to my classmate Sydney about how to recharge the batteries, and they gave me a charge-discharge board. We thought there was a 5V regulator on it, but talking to Mr. L, it was actually a boost board. I was meant to boost the 3.7V battery up to 5V. This means I only needed one battery per PCB. So now I just have to solder two batteries to a couple of BMSs, and then I will have all my components ready.
